I am originally from Pickwick Dam, Tennessee but now live in Bartlett. I am married with a husband and two sons. I have a Bachelor’s of Science in Education from the University of Tennessee at Martin and a Masters in Elementary Education from Memphis State now University of Memphis---- GO TIGERS! I even have 30 hours beyond my Masters. I have taught in Iuka, Mississippi, Humboldt, Tennessee and Millington, Tennessee. I began teaching at Altruria Elementary in 1983. I have taught first, second, and third grade but my heart belongs to second grade. It’s the best!
My family has had lots of teachers --- my mother, several aunts and uncles, cousins and even my grandfather. One of my sons has decided to follow in the family tradition and become a math and history teacher. Can you tell--- We love teaching and learning!
In my spare time I love to read, read, read. I have a library card and love going to the new Bartlett library. I like reading aloud to my second grade students too, and do it everyday. I also like to sew, do needlepoint, and travel to historical places.
